Bad Education (2004)
Another movie by Pedro Almodovar. We like most of his movies, but this one was a dissapointment. It coveres hot topic -
abuse of their young pupils by the catholic prists. It is based on memoirs of Almodovar himself. We found it to be boring.
The only reason why I would watch this movie is to see the how Bernal comes in touch with his feminine side :)
We gave it 6

The Science of Sleep (2006)
I was not impressed with the trailer, but because of our favorite Gael García Bernal we actually went
to the theater to see this movie. It is simple and light, reminds you of the times when you were a careless
child and different things, simpler and yet more real things occupied your mind...
Stephane: [Shows 3-D glasses ] You can see real life in 3-D
Stéphanie: Isn't life already in 3-D?
Stephane: Yeah but, come on.
Loved it and gave it a 9.

Downfall (2004)
This is a film about last days of Hitler, spent in his bunker in Berlin, surrounded by the most loyal people. It is baes on the memoirs of Furer's
personal secretary.
The historical material is well known, which puts more pressuer on the director and his crew, but they managed to create quite a new image (new for us at least)- such a gentle romantic personality,
which makes his other one - cruel, dillusionaly fanatic even more scary and strange.
By the way, they showed fanatism brilliantly here, so one comes to understand how ugly is any kind of it - fashists, communists, islamic or jewish.
We gave it an 8.

Bitter Moon (1992)
Roman Polanski directed this movie - the only reason why we watched it in the first place.
Short description of the plot: to celebrate their 7 anniversary, married couple takes a cruise trip to India, apparently
to solve some of their problems (?!). Since the husband is played by Hugh Grant (I, personally have problem, trying to imagine this super-typical brit,
looking for his spiritual answers in India), this part of the plot seems rather strange. But nevertheless, during their trip the meet another couple (surprise, surprise!) -
half-paralyzed american "wanna-be-a-writer", who lived in Paris longer than he could remember and pretty (quite debatable) young french chick.
naturally, Grant had hots for the girl, but instead of that, he ended up listening to her husband, who long and boring story, told by her husband about their passionate love and
how it grew into something weird and kinky sexual adventure.
The ending is quite banal and very much predictable.
I think this film was cheap and boring, actor's play irritable, not to mention the plot. There are many other
movies on the same subject, that are much more interesting. I wouldn't give it more than 5.
Gene, however, found it to be quite erotic, so he gave it a 7.
Our combined effort is 6.
